May 4th Meeting
The meeting was called to order by President Bre Jones, who gave the invocation. Galdo Pavini led in the pledge to the flag. Bob Quinn conducted introductions. A total of 11 members, Jackie Cash, Emily Farrah and prospective member Viela DuPont of 327 Lisbon St. were in attendance. Galdo Pavini turned in some used eyeglasses.

President Bre distributed regular and board meeting agendas plus district announcements. She made a last reminder to the club of the May 19 - 21 district convention. Bre announced the district will have a May 22nd fund-raising event in San Bruno at the Glenview gas line explosion site. Bodies are needed. Also, Credo Restaurant at Pine & Montgomery will contribute part of all May proceeds to Clinic by the Bay.

May Wong brought up the topic of providing eyeglasses for applicants through this club. After discussion, May volunteered to get back to optometrist June Chun to learn what she will charge the club to do both an eye examination and provide a set of glasses for an individual referred to her by the club.

Bob Fenech informed the club he, his lady and Bill Graziano attended the recent Police & Firefighters Award Night at Patio Espanol. 280 were there to witness the honoring of 7 firefighters and 10 police officers.

This being the last club meeting prior to the convention, convention raffle tickets were continuously drawn until the $251 kitty was won. Farrah/Pavini, Bob Quinn, Bre Jones, Ward Donnelly and May Wong came up with white Titelist golf balls. George Salet had the magic touch winning $251. George invited everybody for after-dinner drinks.

Mystery Lion Charlie Bottarini pointed to David DeMartini as a victim. Galdo Pavini won $6 in the resumed Attendance Drawing.

Board Meeting
President Bre gave the board an update on the club's tax filing status. Everything is being worked out.
The applications for club membership by Viela DuPont and Jackie Cash were submitted to the Board and unanimously accepted. Welcome to the club, Viela and Jackie. Your formal inductions will probably take place at the club's Installation of Officers.

Lyle Workman announced the club's annual Installation of Officers will take place at Bertolucci's Wednesday, July 20th.

The topic of the club meeting three times a month was submitted to the board. After discussion, the Board voted to proceed with the three meetings- - two dinner and one lunch. Next week, Wednesday, May 11th the club will have a lunch meeting at Henry's Hunan Restaurant, the former Granada Cafe location.

May 18th Meeting
The meeting was called to order by President Bre Jones. Pledge to the flag was led by Al Gentile, and Bill Graziano gave the invocation. A total of 12 members and 4 ladies were in attendance. Also in attendance was prospective member Paulo Acosta Cabezas, proprietor of nearby Cafe Mama on Mission St. Charles Bottarini conducted introductions.

President Bre gave a report on the prior weekend's district convention attended by her and her husband, Handford & Margot Clews and Joe & Emily Farrah. Bre and Handford put on a humorous Tail-Twister skit which, surprisingly, was voted in last place in the competition. They will repeat the performance at the club's Installation of Officers night. This club came in First Place in Y & C A raffle ticket sales. The Second Place club sold 900 less books than Geneva-Mission. This club earned about $3,000 in the Y & C A sales. What Bre did not announce is the fact she has been appointed a Regional Chairperson for the coming year. Congratulations, Bre!

Secretary Ward Donnelly read and circulated letters of gratitude from Canine Companions, Teen Challenge, Lions Eye Foundation, St. Mary's Adult Care and the Student Speaker Foundation. Ward reported that Cathy Bottarini, daughter of Chas. & Estelle, donated $100 to the club in the memory of Patricia Ferrera.

Absent Jacob Ratinoff missed out on $2 in the Attendance Drawing. Mystery Lion David DeMartini had no victims.

SHORTS
Patricia Ferrera, widow of Past-President Frank Ferrera 1961-62, passed away April 9th at the age of 85. Pat was the daughter of Sunset Lion Phil Murphy. She and Frank were classmates at Corpus Christi grammar school and resided in San Bruno and North Star, Lake Tahoe. They were the second generation owners of Ferrera Hardware at Mission & Harrington Sts. Pat is survived by a son, three daughters, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
